Zoe McLellan was raised in Washington State after her parents divorced. She has a brother, Nathan, as well as a half-sister, Cassie, from her mother’s later marriage, and a half-brother, Jeremy, on her father’s side; he is of Irish heritage. When she was a mere child, she expressed a desire to be an actress, but she first graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington, in the class of 1992; there, she was crowned a Homecoming Queen. During this time, she also took acting classes and appeared in theatre, in preparation for her Hollywood career. After finishing school, she moved to Los Angeles to further pursue acting.

Zoe’s breakthrough role came in 1996, when she guest-starred in the science fiction television series “Sliders”, playing an antagonist named Logan St. Clare. Although she appeared only once, the show’s fans considered her to be the best villain of the series. Zoe built her career slowly, through numerous guest-starring roles and a few movie parts. She played Sandy in the 1997 coming-of-age film “Inventing the Abbotts”, which starred Liv Tyler, Joaquin Phoenix, Billy Crudup, and Jennifer Connelly. Later on, she took one of the main roles in the fantasy film “Dungeons & Dragons” (2000), based on the role-playing game of the same name. While the film was a critical and commercial failure, Zoe had several television projects to fall back on. She appeared in two science fiction television shows, the first being “Star Trek: Voyager” (2000), and the second being “The Invisible Man” (2000-2001).

Next came one of her most notable roles to date, that of Petty Officer First Class Jennifer “Jen” Coates in the CBS procedural drama “JAG” (2001-2005). She started out in a recurring role, from season seven to season nine, and was then incorporated to a series regular in season ten. After her tenure on “JAG” ended, Zoe soon found herself in another starring role, this time in the prime time drama series “Dirty Sexy Money” (2007-2009), alongside Peter Krause and Donald Sutherland. In 2010, she guest-starred in several TV shows, such as the medical drama “House, M.D.”, comedy drama “Royal Pains”, and drama/mystery show “The Mentalist”. For the next couple of years, she took a break from acting to focus on her family, but returned triumphantly with a starring role in the “NCIS” spin-off, “NCIS: New Orleans” (2014-2016). She also appeared in “NCIS” (2014; 2016), first in the two-episode back door pilot for the spin-off, and then in a crossover episode two years later.

Zoe continues to act, recently taking guest roles in the police procedural show “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (2017), as well as in the comedy drama “Suits” (2017). Her net worth is still rising!

When it comes to her private life, Zoe married J.P. Gillain in 2012, with whom she has one child, but the couple divorced in 2016. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, singing, songwriting, and pop music, especially Katy Perry.
