It all started with Greg and Diana’s wedding. Their marriage lasted seven years, and after eight miscarriages, she eventually gave birth to their son, but the stress caused by the pregnancy ended their relationship.

What Exactly Happened Between Diana Lovejoy and Greg Mulvihill?

Diana Lovejoy filed for divorce in June 2014, and the couple’s divorce took two years to resolve.

Greg was permitted to visit for a few hours under supervision while she had full custody of their son at first.

He had also allegedly sexually abused her and her son, she said. An investigation, however, refuted her accusations, and they were soon given shared custody.

She made more money than her unemployed husband as of 2016, and the court ordered her to share custody of their kid with him, as well as make monthly child support payments of $100.

Lovejoy would have to sell her apartment in Encinitas after a mandated mediation to pay her estranged husband his portion ($120,000) of the family home in Carlsbad, which she would keep.

According to jury forewoman Erin Reed, she didn’t want to split custody and she didn’t want to pay her husband $120,000, so she plotted to murder Greg.

Diana Lovejoy: Murder Update

Diana Lovejoy and her shooting teacher turned boyfriend Weldon McDavid Jr were shortly accused of plotting to murder her ex-husband.

When the plan was revealed, she fiercely denied any involvement and stated that she would never want to hurt her child’s father. She insisted that the charges of sexual assault were real.

For the murder-for-hire conspiracy, she had paid McDavid $2000. Her aunt, Diana Clark, testified at her trial at the North County Superior Courthouse that her niece approached her a year ago.

She’d inquired whether she knew of somebody who might frighten or murder Greg. This, according to one jury, was one of the most powerful pieces of evidence against her.
