Sherryn Dawson is the daughter of convicted murderer Chris Dawson and his first wife Lynette. Following the 1982 disappearance of his wife, Lynette, and two separate coronial inquests, the NSW Coroner determined that Lynette Dawson was dead and that her most likely murderer was her husband, Chris. She has revealed the ‘profound’ memories that surfaced when she was hypnotized in a bid to uncover evidence against her father. In 1982, she was just four years old when her mother Lynette disappeared.

She described how her father would twist people’s words and manipulate situations to his advantage, instead of being honest and considering the needs of others. He would also downplay his own mistakes and blame them on others in order to protect himself.

“My father embodies the survival of the fittest and f— everyone else to get what you want. I feel an anger and rage towards him for being that way, but I simultaneously feel compassion and sadness that he is that way. I started grieving for him, though, even before I believed he murdered my mum”
