Sarah Huckabee Sanders Religion: She Hold Christian Faith

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a Christian. More specifically, she identifies as a Southern Baptist.

She might not talk about God publicly often, but she firmly believes in God. People who have worked with her on campaigns say she would regularly say a pre-event prayer.

Sarah’s faith life reflects younger evangelicals with their move away from denominations. Although Sarah identifies as a Southern Baptist, she has attended more mainstream evangelical churches.

Her husband, Bryan Sanders, is not only a Catholic; their three kids were baptized as infants.

A family friend describes the couple as “progressive Christians.” They go to evangelical and Catholic churches every Sunday.

Sarah spoke with Baptist Press about how her Christian faith intersects with her work. She shared that faith is an integral part of her life and wants to represent it despite being in a political position.

She believes that it is not possible to separate faith and work. “If you are a deep-rooted Christian, your faith defines you,” she said.

Sarah, whose Father is a former Southern Baptist pastor, has relied on her faith primarily through difficult times and tragedies.

“I think your faith can help you get through the good and the bad days,” she added.
