After a grueling three weeks and 3,350 kilometers of unrelenting effort, Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard won the Tour de France on Sunday, ending the reign of two-time champion Tadej Pogacar.

Having finished second to Pogacar in 2021, the 25-year-old former fish market employee, Vingegaard, won his first Tour de France the following year.

Together, in a line and with raucous applause, Vingegaard and his Jumbo-Visma comrades crossed the finish line.

With six stage victories, van Aert’s green sprint and red combativity jerseys, Vingegaard’s polka-dot mountains jersey, the overall title, and the yellow jersey, his Dutch squad made an outstanding collaborative effort.

As a result of his triumph, people are keen to know more about the sizable prize money he won, which has boosted his net worth.

What Is Jonas Vingegaard Prize Money As The Tour De France Winner?

According to sporting news, Jonas Vingegaard will receive prize money for winning the Tour de France, estimated to be around £430,000 ($528,000). This sum is comparable to what Pogaar received after winning last year’s race.

In contrast to other sporting competitions, the allocation of prize money for the 2022 Tour de France is somewhat more convoluted, with prize money being given out in various ways.

As previously said, the winner receives £430,000, followed by Pogacar in second place and 2018 winner Geraint Thomas in third, who each earn £170,000 ($211,000) and £86,000 ($105,000) for finishing on the podium, respectively.

At least £8,600 will go to the top seven riders, and at least £860 ($1,100) will go to each cyclist who completes the final stage in Paris.

Jonas Vingegaard Net Worth In 2022

Given that the prize money for the 2022 Tour de France is just over £430,000 ($528,000), Jonas Vingegaard’s net worth is poised to soar to new heights.

Although the precise amount of the professional cyclist’s net worth is still unclear, it is safe to infer that he has acquired a sizeable fortune from his career.

In May 2016, Vingegaard began his professional career with the Danish national team ColoQuick. At 19, he finished second in the Tour of China I, a UCI 2.1-level competition.

Likewise, he joined Team Jumbo-Visma in 2019, the same year he won stage 6 of the Tour de Pologne, giving him his first UCI WorldTour victory. As a domestique for the race winner Primo Rogli, he finished the 2020 Vuelta a Espaa.

Jonas Vingegaard Earnings And Wealth

Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) has discussed his part-time employment in a fish factory and an auction to supplement his earnings while pursuing a career in cycling.

Before the tour, Benoit Vittek of Eurosport France reported, “First of all, I graduated from college in 2016. It would help if you went to work. I started working there for over a year at the fish auction.”

“I later sustained an injury and could not work for a while.” I began working at a fish factory when I got home. I joined this team in 2019, after working there till the summer of 2018. Therefore, I was still working for a half year before joining the team.

Back to cycling, Vingegaard recalled how he first became interested in the activity while watching the Tour of Denmark as a 10-year-old.
