Clare Crowhurst was Donald Crowhurst Wife. She was devasted after her husband’s lost story.

There were many assumptions of him committing suicide or lying about his adventures in the sea, but she chose to disagree with all of them.

Donald Crowhurst Story & Documentary Details

Donald Crowhurst’s ship began to take on the water soon after he began the race, and he noted that it would most likely drown in severe waves.

To appear to have completed a circumnavigation without really doing so, he surreptitiously abandoned the race while reporting fake locations.

The logbooks from his ship, discovered after he vanished, show that the stress he was under and the resulting psychological deterioration may have contributed to his suicide.

Crowhurst’s last log entry was on July 1, 1969; it is assumed that the lost incident occurred after that.

The state of the boat did not indicate that it had been overrun by a rogue wave or that any accident had occurred which might have caused Crowhurst to fall overboard.

From his apparent state of mind, it seems likely that he consciously decided to take his own life, possibly to become a “second-generation cosmic being”.
