Joni Mitchell is a legendary Canadian singer-songwriter. Joni has received numerous awards, including ten Grammys and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

Rolling Stone named her “one of the greatest songwriters of all time.” Joni stopped touring in 2007 and released her 17th and final album of original songs.

Mitchell has struggled with health issues in recent years, including a stroke, post-polio health issues, and Morgellons disease, a rare, controversial, and mysterious condition.

Mitchell reveals in her biography, “Reckless Daughter: A Portrait of Joni Mitchell,” by David Yaffe, that she sometimes cannot wear clothing because she feels like she is being “eaten alive.”

Morgellons disease is a dermopathy characterised by multicoloured, fibre-like filaments under, in, or projecting from the skin, as well as sores and crawling sensations.

Mitchell contracted polio when he was nine years old and was hospitalised for several weeks. Mitchell had a brain aneurysm in 2015, which left her unable to walk or speak for a short period.
