Originally came into the WWF as a "babyface" (or good guy), but after a fan vote tally of over 674,000 showed only 71,000 people liked him, he got mad and turned "heel" (or bad guy).
Defeated Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
Teamed with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine to form the tagteam Rhythm & Blues.
'Honky Tonk' has rarely been seen without his guitar throughout his wrestling career, and to this day still uses it to attack other wrestlers. Ironically, in real life, he doesn't know how to play a single note on it, which has long been a running-joke among wrestling fans.
Has one of the longest reigning wrestling gimmicks of all time, that of a jumpsuit-wearing, acoustic guitar-toting Elvis impersonator. Unlike other former WWF/WWE wrestlers, Farris owns the Honky Tonk Man gimmick/persona outright, whereas countless wrestlers (Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, Billy Gunn, Chyna among others) have had to take on other gimmicks when performing outside of the WWF/WWE.
His theme music is widely considered the most memorable in wrestling history.
Driven to the ring at Wrestlemania VI by future wrestling superstar "Diamond" Dallas Page in his pink Cadillac

Was voted the Greatest Intercontinental Champion... on WWE.com
Was involved in one of the first "Hardcore" matches seen on TV. He and Larry "Moondog Spot" Latham brawled with Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee on Memphis TV in what has been called the "Tupelo Concession Stand Brawl"
Made a surprise one-off appearance at Royal Rumble 2001 on 21st January 2001, coming in at number 12 and playing his entrance song before being hit over the head with his own guitar by Kane (Glen Jacobs) and then eliminated from the rumble.
Professional wrestler
Holds the all-time record for the longest single reign as WWF Intercontinental Champion. He was champ for approximately 14 months, 27 days.
