American rapper-record producer ASAP Rocky is the brother of late New York resident Ricky Mayers.

Last April, the Harlem rapper got arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, with reports claiming he charged at an associate.

Terell Ephron, a.k.a. ASAP Relli, has come out to file a civil lawsuit against him over the shooting. The LAPD said he fired three shots, with one grazing his left hand.

The talent manager was his friend from High School but is not on good terms after Rocky’s repeated threats and abuse.

How Old Was Ricky Mayers? Photos Revealed

Ricky Mayers was only 13 when he got brutally murdered in his hometown in the Harlem neighborhood.

He and his siblings, sister, Erika B. Mayers, and brother A$AP Rocky spent their early days in Manhattan, New York, where they had a turbulent time getting food on the table.

Even when the times were tough, he remained the ideal brother and tried to shield the younger ones from the violence.

Their father, Barbados native Adrian Mayers was not in the picture after getting convicted of drug tracking. After he went behind bars, the gang member came knocking for their money and shot him dead in front of his family.

Spending his last years in jail, he did not get to see freedom as he passed ways in 2012.

It was up to their mother, Renee, to put food on the table, which put immense strain on their finance.

Having no other choice, he got into the drug business and sold weed and Brox before twitting his big break.

Is Ricky Mayers ASAP Rocky’s Brother?

Ricky Mayers was the older brother of American rapper A$AP Rocky. On numerous occasions, he had cited him as the inspiration behind his works as he was his support.

In a Mercedes-Benz’s Grow Up: Get A Job advert, he opened up about the devastating effects of his brother’s demise as he was merely a 13-year-old kid.

Since he was a child, he had a constant beat ringing in his ears, but it stopped after suffering from the traumatic event.

Indeed, it was Rickey who taught him the history of rap culture, aiding him in setting the foundations for a career in hip hop.

In the video, he spoke about how the event pushed him to settle for not less than the No.1 spot as it was what his sibling wanted.

Even though he had to descend to heaven, he left his teaching and remains responsible for the enigma of A$AP Rocky.

With the uncountable number one on the Billboard 200, he has received both critic’s acclaim and fans’ love, winning two BET Hip Hop Awards and an MTV Video Music Award in Japan.
