At the prestigious Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC), Payton Ackerman demonstrated an exceptional talent for dancing and left an indelible mark on the dance floor before embarking on other projects. Dance company owner Abby Lee Miller has nothing but praise for the dancer, naming her one of the finest hip-hop dancers the institution has ever seen.

Despite her early accomplishments as a dancer, it wasn’t until she graced the second season of Dance Moms that she shot to fame. Her time on the reality show Lifetime turned her into a national star, but it wasn’t easy towards the end. Get all the details below.

Payton Ackerman – Biography, Age

The Dance Moms star was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 24, 1997. Payton graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in Pennsylvania in 2015.

With an older sister who moves like her, Payton had the advantage of leaving early. Her dancing skills continued to improve and soon she was dancing for Reign Dance Productions, followed by Abby Lee Miller Dance Company. In 2011, Lifetime began screening the reality show Dance Moms with villainous Abby Lee Miller as director. Abby’s over-the-top attitude, along with the show’s skillful young dancers, made the show a smash hit. At that time, Payton Ackerman wanted nothing more than to perform in front of amazed audiences, who always marveled at the performance of young people. So, it was no surprise that in 2012 she landed a spot on the second season of the dance show.

While she started dancing at ALDC at age 11, her Dance Moms spell began at age 14. On Dance Moms, Payton was often seen as a spoiled brat who always got into altercations with the people around her, even with Miller, but her peers and Abby misinterpreted her.

Before the end of the season, Payton was left out in the team as she is much taller than the rest of her teammates. This despite the fact that she was among the best dancers on the show. This treatment he received was not well received by Payton’s mother who intervened, leading to the end of his stint on the show. During a subsequent interview, Payton explained that his relationship with Abby was not strained, despite what it was like with Dance Moms. On the contrary, she credits the dance teacher with guiding her in her work and playing the role of a second mother when the need arises. In 2015, she returned to ALDC, this time as a teacher. Her time with the company finally came to an end when she thought it was time to explore new grounds. She left the company on good terms and moved to Los Angeles.

In addition to dancing, Payton Ackerman has viewed videos, including Todrick Hall’s 2014 music video Monsters Like Me, as well as the short film High Hello (2015) in which she received critical acclaim. Despite these other projects, her passion for dance never faded. Lately, she had a good performance in Australian singer Magenta Harley’s live show in ‘The Federal’ in NoHo. The show took place on April 30, 2018.

Payton Ackerman also uses social media to connect with his fans. She has accounts on multiple platforms including Twitter where she has over 57,000 followers and Instagram where her regular posts about her career, lifestyle and travels have attracted over 623,000 fans. Of course, her Instagram account is loaded with some of her hip-hop dance videos with co-workers. Truly, Payton Ackerman has built a solid career as a professional dancer.
