Paula Abdul had a voice problem in the past, which was why she stopped performing for a few years. She has now recovered well.

Paula Abdul is a famous actress, singer, dancer, choreographer, and television personality. From 2002 through 2009, Abdul was one of the original judges on the television show American Idol.

At the age of 18, she began her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers, subsequently becoming the chief choreographer for the Laker Girls when The Jacksons spotted her.

Abdul became a choreographer at the height of the music video period after choreographing music videos for Janet Jackson, and she was soon signed to Virgin Records.

Paula Abdul Voice Problems: Does She Have Illness?

Yes, Paula Abdul has been suffering from an illness that has affected her voice and has caused problems.

As per her interview on Today, because she is in so much pain, she has a lot of sleepless nights. In earlier seasons of American Idol, she was taking significantly more medication, and no one said anything.

People have caught up to her trying to say something and fumbled. She lacked polish.

When asked how she responds to charges that her conduct on “Idol” might be odd at times, Abdul says, “I’m fed up with it.” I’ve never been inebriated. I’m not a recreational drug user. It’s character assassination.”

Overall, the choreographer and former Laker girl is a fighter in general. She isn’t the most delicate dancer or vocalist, but she is the whole package of a superb performer.

Paula Abdul Illness RSD Due To Cheerleading Accident

Paula Abdul’s health condition is also affected by RSD as she suffered an accident in the past.

Abdul suffers reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), a persistent neurological condition that produces excruciating agony.

At the age of 17, a report stated that she was injured in a cheerleading accident and has suffered from severe pain ever since. She was unable to get out of bed at one point in her career owing to the lack of use on one side of her body.

Her neck is adorned with four titanium plates. She’s endured 14 surgeries, including one on the same night as American Idol’s first season finale.

Abdul can come and go as she pleases, but she no longer suffers from the excruciating nerve agony associated with RSD.

In 1987, she was hit by a drunk driver, and in the early 1990s, she was injured in an emergency plane landing. Her pain was managed with anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as massage and acupuncture.
