Nickolas Gene Carter, simply known as Nick Carter, is a famous American singer and songwriter, record producer, musician, as well as an actor. To the public, Nick Carter is perhaps best known for his involvement with the popular vocal group called “Backstreet Boys”. Formed in 1993, the band also included AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell. The “Backstreet Boys” rose to prominence in 1996 with the release of their self-titled studio album, which brought them a lot of international attention. In addition to producing five singles, the album managed to top the music charts in Austria, Canada, Germany and Malaysia. The group followed their successful debut with “Backstreet’s Back”, and “Backstreet Boys”, both of which came out in 1997. The latter self-titled album was released solely in the United States, where it enjoyed large commercial success. “Backstreet Boys” attracted public attention with such singles as “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”, “As Long As You Love Me”, and “All I Have to Give”, all of which contributed to the sales of the album. Up to date, the album has sold approximately 14 million copies, and earned a 14-times Platinum certification. Since their debut, both internationally and in the United States, “Backstreet Boys” have grown to become one of the best-selling groups in music history, with more than 130 million albums sold around the world. More recently, in 2013, in order to celebrate their 20th anniversary the band released their eighth studio album called “In a World Like This”.

I don't believe in being mean to anyone. I'm a really peaceful person. That's something I get from my family.
I'm an old rock and roll buff. I love Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.
All the things I've been doing have been very unique and original. I've just been trying to stand on my own two feet when it comes to everything. I don't want to follow trends. I don't want to be like everybody else. You know, that's not me.
It would be going too far to say I was actually in Edward Scissorhands because I was so far in the background that you can't tell it's me. It would be better to say I was on the set of the film. I was in the scene when Edward looks out of a window to the neighborhood. For a split second he sees some kids playing - one of them was me. I was sliding on a yellow piece of plastic we used to call a Slip n' Slide. They were long flat sheets with water coming out of holes and were really popular with kids at the time. I had to slide on one in the background of the shot. It was great fun being on the set, but it was really cold and they made us do it a lot of times.
Girls who are older than me, girls that are smaller, pretty long dark hair, honest, loyal, very romantic, someone that loves me for who I am deep down inside, someone who is independent, fiesty with a great personality, good heart, most of all - my dream girl has to be natural, not too much makeup! - what he looks for in a girl
I'm kind of like a sponge in a way. Everybody that I meet inspires me. You can learn so much from any person that you meet any day on the side of the street.
I try to make myself look as normal as possible because I like people to relate to me. Teen People, Summer 2000
