Lucy attended Brisbane Girls Grammar School, and during her time there started to train in theatre, including with the theatre company called Zen Zen Zo, steadily improving her skills. In 2007 she was a runner-up in the Girlfriend Magazine Model Search competition. She began her acting career on stage in mostly support roles, and then had an uncredited role in the season three finale of the series “H2O: Just Add Water”. Eventually, she got her first major role two years later in “Lightning Point”, in which she was cast in the main role Zoey. The series has a modern day setting mixed in with fantasy elements. More opportunities started to appear for her thanks to her performance there, and her net worth also started to increase.

Fry then joined the first season of “Mako: Island of Secrets”, in which she played one of the lead mermaids Lyla – the series is a spin-off of “H2O: Just Add Water”, and follows a teenage boy who suddenly turns into a merman after falling into a magical pool on the fictional island of Mako. In 2014 Fry began to appear regularly in big films, including “Vampire Academy”, and in “Now Add Honey” playing the role of the titular character in the comedy film starring herself, Portia de Rossi and Robyn Butler. The following year she co-starred in the film “The Preppie Connection” alongside Thomas Mann, a crime drama based on the infamous cocaine smuggling operation in 1984 based in Choate Rosemary Hall. In 2016, Fry had roles in the films “Mr. Church”, and in “The Darkness” appearing alongside Kevin Bacon. The film focuses on a family that brings home a supernatural force from the Grand Canyon, which starts to feed off their fears. The film received negative reviews, but did well in the box office, and lifted Lucy’s net worth.

During the same year, Lucy then became a part of the miniseries “Wolf Creek” in which she played the lead character Eve Thorogood, and was then cast in the fantasy film “Bright” which stars Will Smith, playing a young elf who gets powers over a magical wand. She will also appear as Heidi in the film “Highway”, alongside Eiza Gonzalez.

For her personal life, there have been rumors of her having a romantic connection with Dominic Sherwood, though it hasn’t been confirmed. Her interests include karate, in which she has a purple belt.
