Do Calatheas like to be misted?

Prayer plants enjoy a humid environment, but many varieties can handle lower levels of humidity. Ideally, they prefer a humidity level of 50 percent or more, with more sensitive varieties requiring higher humidity levels—around 60 percent. Spray from the bottom up, and higher overall humidity is preferred over misting.

Do Calatheas like shade?

The Calatheas are shade-loving plants but they will tolerate more light, they don’t like to be completely in the dark. As long as you keep them moist but not wet in a shady area of your home they will last for years.
