Hospitals in Kenya : A Comprehensive List of Accredited Hospitals

Kenya is still a developing nation in many respects, including when it comes to healthcare. The country’s life expectancy still lies at 63 years, with maternal and infant mortality remaining relatively high. It was reported that Kenya spent only a meagre 5.1% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on healthcare in 2002. This was well below the high-income OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries’ average of 9.8% for the same period. Moreover, the total amount spent on healthcare stands at about US$6.2 per capita, which is way below the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) recommended level of US$34 per capita. Despite all these, healthcare facilities in Kenya have started experiencing gradual growth and development in recent times; becoming well-known for up-to-standard healthcare delivery. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the leading hospitals in Kenya.
