Gloria’s interest in music dates back to the early age of five, when she started taking poetry recital lessons alongside piano and dancing classes. At the age of 12, she started performing on the streets of Mexico City, where she also met Sergio Andrade, her future manager. In 1985, Gloria became a member of the girl group Boquitas Pintadas; although the band broke apart only two years later, it helped Gloria to break the ice and begin her solo career, which officially started in 1989, when she released her debut album “¿Qué Hago Aquí?” (“What am I doing Here?”) with the help of Andrade. The album was a commercial success, also featuring her first hit single, Dr. Psiquiatra, and providing the basis for Gloria Trevi’s net worth.

This initial success was followed by Gloria’s second album called “Tu Ángel de la Guarda” (“Your Guardian Angel”) in 1990, which managed to beat the fame of the first one. Gloria Trevi’s popularity was on the rise, and between 1991 and 1996, she released five more albums and even made some efforts towards the movie making industry, with appearances in three Mexican blockbusters movies including 1993 “Zapatos Viejos” in which she starred as herself. In the same year, Gloria Trevi was nominated at the Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony for the Pop Female Artist of the Year. These involvements have certainly increased her fame as well as her net worth.

As her popularity and sex appeal were rising rapidly, and armies of Mexican and Latin American girls started to adore her, Gloria Trevi was given the “title” of the Mexican Madonna. Apart from music, Gloria guided her talents towards public speaking, focusing on issues such as religion, homelessness, hunger, prostitution, drugs, wars, AIDS and general violence on women. These engagements have brought Gloria Trevi magazine coverages, television specials, and of course, increments to her wealth.

Although the 1990s were more than prosperous for Gloria, the picture wasn’t that bright. After getting herself romantically involved with her manager Sergio Andrade in 1998, she faced accusations of child abuse, child prostitution and child slavery, and became wanted by Mexican Police, and Interpol as well. After two years spent as a fugitive, in 2000 Gloria Trevi was arrested by Brazilian Police in Rio de Janeiro where she spent almost five years imprisoned. In 2004, after returning to Mexico, charges was dropped due to lack of the evidence.

In 2006, Gloria Trevi returned to the studio and subsequently released her new album – “Cómo Nace El Universo” (“How the Universe is Born”). Three more albums followed and all three rated platinum. These accomplishments have helped Gloria to restore her previous glory, and to add sums to her overall wealth.

In her career, Gloria Trevi has published 10 studio albums with over 20 million copies sold, and has toured across the American continent five times so far. It is certain that all these ventures have positively impacted the total amount of wealth that Gloria Trevi has accumulated up to this day.

When it comes to her personal life, as it is already mentioned, she was married to her manager Sergio Andrade. While serving her prison sentence in 2002, she acknowledged that she was pregnant, and as the DNA analysis later confirmed, the father of the son was, apparently, Andrade; the subsequently divorced in 2005. Gloria Trevi has been married to lawyer Armando Gomez since 2009, although they had their first child in 2005. With her family, Gloria Trevi currently resides in McAllen, Texas, USA.
