Malone was a part of the African-American gang Crips, joining them in his teen years. His mother was in jail for the best part of his life, as she served a sentence of 25 years for dealing in illegal substances.

Nevertheless, Malone found his way in the world through music; his first releases were mixtapes “The Crack Mixtape” (2003), and “White Lightning… Sticks” (2005), the latter selling more than 50,000 copies and featuring the song “Two Hunned”, which became a street hit. He was initially signed with The Black Wall Street Records, whose artists are mostly part of the Crips’ gang rivals called Bloods. However, Glasses continued to make music, and several other mixtapes followed, including “DJ Skee & Dow Jones presents: The Electric Chair” (2007), “Nightmare on Seven Street” (2009), and “Drive-By Muzik” (2010), before he came up with his debut studio album “Beach Cruiser” (2011), which was released through Cash Money Records, as Malone changed his record label. Lacking funding for a new full-length album, Malone continued independently, and recorded mixtapes “The Dope Mixtape” (2011), and “Glass House” (2012), before he released his second full length album “Glass House 2: Life Ain’t Nuthin’ But” in 2015, the sales of which only added to his wealth. The album was released through his own Division Media Corporation record label which he founded in 2014.
