Old Friends Quartet and solo albums (1999–2003)

After The Cathedral Quartet retired in 1999, Haase embarked upon a solo career for a couple of years. In addition to his solo concerts, he performed from 2001 through 2003 with Jake Hess, Wesley Pritchard, and George Younce in the Old Friends Quartet.

Ernie Haase and Signature Sound (2002–present)

After Younce and Hess were not in good health and the old friend quartet fell apart, Haase formed Signature Sound Quartet, Inc. The group changed its name from its Gaither Music label to Ernie Haase and Signature Sound to serve as the platform for Cathedral Quartet and Haase to use popularity as the ultimate tenor. The band won the third Grammy Award nomination, the “Best Root Gospel Album” of “Something Beautiful”, which is a song of the same name sung by Bill and Gloria Gaither.
