Glisson was arrested for the murder of a Taxi driver, Baithe Diop, in the Bronx city in1995.

Carlos Perez, Israel Vasquez, Cathy Watkins, Devon Ayers, and Michael Cosme were five other people who were convicted, along with Eric.

They were named “The Bronx Six.”

Glisson studied law while in prison and earned his paralegal certificate to fight the case. He eventually sent a letter to US Attorney’s office asking for the case to be re-opened.

The defense attorney proved the invalidation of the single eye witness. The testimony was conflicting as there was no view possible from her bathroom window, which she claimed was the source of her observation.

There existed no other forensic evidence. He was sent behind bars on grounds of a single piece of conflicting evidence.

The attorney Peter Cross claimed that as long as people rely on money, wrongful convictions are a regular thing.

The two of the gang members eventually confessed their crimes that overturned the case of Glisson and four of his other friends.

They were promised $40 million as compensation by NYC, which is considered as one of the largest amounts in the city’s history.
