Chris Olave’s parents, Raul and LaCausha Olave, instilled a love of athletics in all of their children at a young age. The parents of three, who are extremely proud of their kid, have publicly highlighted his accomplishments on their various social media profiles.

Their youngest son, Olave, played college football at Ohio State and was picked by the New Orleans Saints in the 1st round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Olave participated in both offense and special teams as a freshman at Ohio State. During his first season, he had 12 receptions for 197 yards and three touchdowns.

Amid this, the New Orleans Saints selected Olave in the first round (11th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft.

In Week 1’s 27-26 win over the Atlanta Falcons, he made his NFL debut with three receptions for 41 yards and a two-point conversion.

Olave has nine catches for 147 yards in the third week of the season against the Carolina Panthers. He caught his first touchdown pass as a professional in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings, scoring on a four-yard reception.

Meet Chris Olave Parents Raul And LaCausha Olave

Chris Olave is the youngest of three kids reared by his parents, Raul and Causha, in San Diego. His father is of Cuban origin, and his mother is of African-American descent.

According to his Facebook page, his father attended Daniel Boone Elementary School and graduated with a high school diploma. Likely, clicking on the @Ouly Olave handle draws you to his page.

While their older brother Isiah played basketball at UC Davis, Josh and Chris attended Eastlake High School in a San Diego suburb.

The Olave parents had high academic expectations for their sons. During the week, the guys were not even allowed to use video games. But, despite several warnings, Josh and Chris were not living up to that level.

So Raul and Causha chose to relocate north of San Diego and educate the boys in Mission Hills, downsizing from a six-bedroom home to a three-bedroom apartment.

Likewise, Chris has expressed thankfulness to his family and to God for where he is in life in recent social media posts.

The Saints Player Olave’s Parents Didn’t Influence His College Decision

Olave stated to the San Diego Tribune that his parents did not try to influence his college plans. However, the day after coming home from Columbus, Ohio, he noticed a sign.

Chris added that he and his father were on their way to Mission Hills when he saw the automobile in front of them had an Ohio State license plate, which is unusual in his community.

In contrast, Olave and Josh, his older brother, used to play together. Josh had been prevented from competing during his own senior season owing to transfer regulations, and Chris revealed to Southern California Prep Insider during his final year of high school that he was devoting the season to Josh.

Additionally, his family serves as his primary source of inspiration. The agonizing end to the previous season was made more bearable by his family.

Chris Olave Siblings: Josh And Isiah Olave

Olave and his two brothers, Josh and Isiah Olave, were raised in San Ysidro, San Diego, California. Both of his brothers played football in their high school days.

Similarly, Josh turned 24 last August, making him two years older than Chris, while Isiah’s present age is unclear.

Josh was a two-year starter for head coach Lee Price at Eastlake High in Chula Vista, California, before switching to Mission Hills High in San Marcos, California, where he sat out his senior year of high school in 2016 to comply with a CIF transfer rule.

His finest overall performance came in a win over Bonita Vista, as he guided the Titans to a 45-20 victory with three tackles. As a sophomore in 2014, he participated in all 11 games, earning 38 tackles and team highs of four interceptions and ten pass deflections.

As a sophomore in 2018, Olave participated in all 12 games, led the team with five interceptions, and had two interceptions and a pass breakup in the win over Simon Fraser on September 8 (GNAC Defensive Player of the Week).

Further, he also recorded a season-high six tackles in the victory at Western Oregon on September 15.

Chris Olave Brother Isiah Also Played Football

Born in San Diego, Isiah worked as a mentor and tutor for elementary school students there.

As a true freshman in 2014, he participated in all 11 games, with 12 tackles overall (11 unassisted). He had a standout season thanks to four tackles at Ft. Lewis and three versus Northern Arizona.

He also received first-team defensive honors for the All-CIF San Diego Section in 2013 and was chosen for the All-Mesa League first team. He has also been voted the 2013 Offensive Player of the Year.

He Is Father To A Son Name Josiah Zakai

The eldest, Olave, is married to his wife, Marcela, who graduated from the University of California, Davis. Isiah’s wife also played football while she was a college student; thus, athleticism runs in the family.

The couple is parents to a son named Josiah Zakai, who also has an Instagram page handled by his mother and father.
