The Great British Baking Show: The Professionals on Netflix is a classic version of the show with a modern twist. Instead of putting teams of top patisserie chefs against one another in the Bake Off tent like a dozen or so bubbly amateur bakers would, The Professionals gives them the crazy goal of winning over the judges.

Three rounds of the tournament are held: the first round involves six couples being cut to three, followed by the second round including six pairs being cut to three, and finally the final is made of the top three teams from each round. Miniatures and showpieces are often the two tasks in each episode. While they may plan for the majority of challenges, including prep the night before, there are still unexpected challenges.

Alongside hosts, Liam Charles and Tom Allen, Cherish Finden & Benoit Blin serve as the judges of the show. Similarly, many people have been wanting to know more about Cherish. Well, here’s her complete Wikipedia.

Chef Cherish Finden (@cherish_finden), a grande dame of the British pastry world and multiple award-winning pastry chef and professional judge, is originally from Singapore and presently works as an executive pastry chef at Pan Pacific London (@panpacificlondon). Her age & height is unknown, however, given that she began her professional culinary training in 1985 at approximately the age of 20, we would assume she is in her mid-50s.

The Great British Baking Show: The Professionals host started out as a waitress when she was 14 years old but soon went into the kitchen where she fell in love with cooking. When she was 16 years old, Cherish Finden enrolled in culinary school. She soon polished her abilities in some of Singapore’s most prestigious hotels, including The Sheraton and the famed six-star Raffles Hotel.

In order to work at the Langham hotel, which is regarded as the birthplace of the British tea tradition, Cherish Finden moved to London in 2001. Peter A. Knipp, who she worked with in Singapore, is her greatest teacher, according to her. In an interview with Cacao Barry, she said:

He pushed me always to the maximum by saying that I was actually not good enough, so I was doing more and more and better and better. I also did many competitions but he did not care about certificates, he just cared about what he saw and tasted on the plate. Another great teacher was Martin Chiffers – he guided me on the culinary side.

After being hired as the executive pastry chef at the famed Langham hotel in London from 2009 to 2017, the reality star, who joined the Bake Off: The Professionals series in 2016, attracted attention on a global scale. Cherish Finden’s best culinary memory had nothing to do with the several prizes she had received or mixing with celebrities. In an interview with CNA Luxury, she discussed it and said the following:

My Ah Ma (grandmother) would take me to the open-air Teochew opera show – a tradition I enjoyed with her every year. She always brought me to an exquisite Teochew fishball noodle stall for Singaporean street food………………I feel hungry just thinking about it.

Cherish Finden has created cakes for Lady Gaga and Queen Elizabeth‘s 90th birthday and has received over 25 prizes from various international culinary competitions. She has received various awards over her career, including the Macalcan Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 and the prestigious Tea Guild’s “Top London Afternoon Tea” Award in 2010. The Craft Guild of Chefs honored her in 2012 with the title of “Pastry Chef of the Year.”

Additionally, Cherish Finden has made appearances on popular TV shows like Junior Bake-off, Heston’s Great British Food on Channel 4, Australian MasterChef, and MasterChef on BBC2. Finden’s connection with Pan Pacific began before the London branch opened in September 2021, when she was employed there in 1991.

While the name of her husband has yet to be revealed, Cherish has previously talked about him, who she immigrated to London with. The couple shares a home in Kent.
