Chelsea Cutler Biography

Chelsea Cutler is an American singer, songwriter, and producer of introspective EDM from the USA. A multi-instrumentalist, she grew up making music. But later became interested in recording and production at the age of 17.

Chelsea was born to her parents in Westport, Connecticut. She shares a close bond with both her dad and mom. And If you were wondering where did Chelsea inherit the good looks from, it is from her Mother! Take a look at the mother-daughter duo they look completely alike. She also has a brother in her family, who she is very proud of.

Cutler began uploading covers of artists spanning the Tallest Man on Earth and ODESZA in 2014, and as a freshman at Amherst College, she shared the original song Anything for You in late 2015. Wake Up followed in 2016 as Cutler started to be featured on songs by EDM and indie electronic acts such as Kidswaste, Louis the Child, and Kasbo, garnering millions of streams between them.

In 2017, her own songs Your Shirt and Sixteen were met by a growing fan base, and Cutler scored a record deal with Sony affiliate Ultra Records. Her debut on Ultra, You Make Me, was released in August 2017 and hit the Billboard viral chart just as Cutler, a member of Amherst’s soccer team, began her junior year of college. Her first EP, Snow in October, followed that October. In 2018, she issued the single “Cold Showers.” The following year, she paired with Jeremy Zucker for the brent EP.

Chelsea Cutler On Her New Mixtape & Staying Grounded: ‘Who You Are Isn’t What You’re Posting’ Online

This year Cutler released two mixtapes, completed her first headlining tour and even had her face on the Spotify billboard in Times Square. But for the 21-year-old songwriter-producer, the most surprising moment in her career came when she didn’t return to college in the fall.

“It didn’t really hit me honestly until this September when all of my friends went back,” she explains, “and I left for Nashville for the tour. I was like, ‘I’m really not going back to school. This is crazy.’”

Hailing from Westport, Conn., Cutler has been creating and sharing music ever since her junior year of high school. After uploading her songs on SoundCloud, her blend of indie-pop and electronic music garnered a loyal following.

Tracks like “Your Shirt” led to collaborations with artists like Louis The Child on “Slow Down Love” and ayokay on “The Shine” — all while Cutler was playing soccer as a student-athlete at Amherst College.

When Quinn XCII offered her a support slot on his spring tour, she made the “really scary” decision to drop out and pursue music full-time.
