Charles Osgood, the esteemed American radio and television commentator, was not only a luminary in the world of journalism but also a devoted family man.

Alongside his wife, Jeanne Crafton, Charles Osgood had the joy of raising five children in their home in Englewood, New Jersey.

The Osgood family is a testament to the rich tapestry of Charles’s life, extending beyond his illustrious career into the realm of fatherhood. The five children, each with their unique personalities and journeys, are Kathleen, Winston, Emily, Jamie, and Annie.

Kathleen, born in 1974, is a 50-year-old individual who, like her siblings, was raised in the nurturing environment that Charles and Jeanne provided. Winston, born in 1975, follows closely behind as a 49-year-old, contributing to the diverse dynamics of the Osgood family.

Emily, the third child, came into the world in 1979, and at 45 years old, she has undoubtedly been a source of joy and inspiration within the Osgood household. Jamie, the fourth child, was born in 1983 and, at 41 years old, represents the next generation of the Osgood legacy.

While Annie’s age and birth year remain unclear, her presence in the Osgood family is undoubtedly marked by the same love and closeness that characterizes the entire clan.

Charles Osgood’s commitment to family was not only evident in the day-to-day moments but also in the sentiments he expressed through his art. On June 2, 2010, The Saturday Evening Post featured a Father’s Day poem penned by Charles himself, titled “Father of the Year.”

In this heartfelt poem, he lovingly acknowledged and celebrated his five children, offering a glimpse into the depth of his paternal affection.

On January 23, 2024, Charles Osgood passed away at the age of 91, succumbing to complications of dementia at his home in Saddle River, New Jersey.
