Rhona Unsell, the second wife of the renowned American actor, director, and former football linebacker Carl Weathers, played a substantial role in the actor’s life during a period when he had firmly established himself as a Hollywood star.

The couple exchanged vows in February 1984, a time when Weathers was basking in the success of three Rocky movies and had made notable appearances in popular TV shows like Starsky & Hutch and Barnaby Jones.

Carl Weathers, by the time of his second marriage, had already etched his name in the annals of Hollywood, becoming a household name with his portrayal of Apollo Creed in the Rocky series.

The union with Rhona Unsell, in contrast to his other marriages, endured for a significant span, spanning an impressive 22 years. Their relationship weathered the challenges of fame and the demanding nature of the entertainment industry, standing as a testament to their commitment to each other.

Despite the longevity of their marriage, the couple decided to part ways in 2006. This marked the conclusion of a chapter that spanned more than two decades. Notably, unlike Weathers’ first marriage, this union with Rhona was not blessed with children, adding a unique dimension to their shared journey.

The news of Carl Weathers’ passing on February 1, 2024, reverberated through the entertainment world and beyond. His family’s statement, confirming that he passed away peacefully in his sleep at his Los Angeles home, added a layer of serenity to the somber announcement.

As fans and the industry grapple with the loss of an iconic figure, the reflection on Weathers’ personal life includes a chapter dedicated to his second wife, Rhona Unsell, whose presence marked a significant era in the actor’s enduring legacy.
