Benjamin Thomas Barnes is a well-known English actor and vocalist who has appeared in a number of films and television series.

His most well-known roles include Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia film series, Logan Delos in Westworld, Billy Russo/Jigsaw in The Punisher, and The Darkling in Shadow and Bone.

He was born in southwest London on August 20, 1981, to Patricia Becker, a relationship psychotherapist, and Thomas Barnes, a psychiatrist, and lecturer. He has a younger brother named Jack.

Barnes attributes his early life to his mother’s South African Jewish upbringing, his father’s scientific education, and his attendance at a “vaguely Christian” school where he liked singing hymns.

Barnes went to two private boys’ schools, Homefield Preparatory School in Sutton and King’s College School in Wimbledon. During his stay at King’s, he was heavily involved in music, singing in choirs and playing percussion in jazz and concert bands.

Barnes joined the National Youth Music Theatre at the age of 16 and played the drums in the West End musical adaptation of Bugsy Malone. Prior to starting university, he collaborated with Simon Fuller to create a jazz club and release an album, which never materialized.
