Polly Evans Illness 2023

Polly Evans, a former BBC South East Today broadcaster, suffered a tragic setback that abruptly terminated her career.

She became voiceless due to an illness that set off a neurological “tick.” Evans publicly discussed the problem on her LinkedIn page and how she had to “reinvent” herself.

While working as a news anchor for a well-known program, she had a cough that likely turned into bronchitis.

Despite taking triple the recommended amount of vitamin C, over-the-counter medications, and three courses of antibiotics, nothing helped.

She struggled to make some sounds when it cracked her voice, making it challenging to talk on live television. She moved from being a TV news anchor and reporter to being a voiceless lady.

Evans feared that her voice and her career might both disappear.

She was terrified of falling behind on the bills and disappointing her partner and children. She drew enough clarity from the depths to understand she needed to go in a new direction.

Ultimately, Evans was able to rediscover her voice with the aid of encouraging specialists.
