After her surprising break from longtime coach, her father Alex, Sofia Kenin, and her boyfriend Max Wenders formed a coach-trainee pair. The ‘match’ turned out to be ideal for more than just professional reasons.

Tennis star Sofia Kenin, who is seeded fourth in the US Open, stunned everyone earlier this year when she declared she was no longer working with her longtime coach, her father Alex Kenin.

Kenin had described the decision as “not easy” at the time. However, it was soon apparent that the young tennis prodigy had found a suitable teacher in Max Wenders.

Kevin made them ‘Instagram official’ as a passionate pair after the tennis player celebrated her new coach’s 26th birthday on social media.

Aus Open: Sofia Kenin Boyfriend Max Wenders

Sofia Kenin made headlines for two reasons, one about her longtime coach Mr, Kenin, the other, about her boyfriend Max Wenders.

In one news piece, Kenin’s new partner, identified as Max Wenders, is characterized as a 25-year-old tennis teacher.

At the tender age of 15, the Dutch trainer’s long-term desire of becoming a tennis coach rather than a player was solidified.

After enrolling at a Belgian academy, the adolescent Wenders began coaching other children on the side.

He has worked with Estonian Anett Kontaveit and Dutch star Demi Schuurs as an assistant coach.

In a WTA circuit, he was also the hitting partner for Jelena Ostapenko, the 2018 Latvian French Open winner.

Wenders and Kenin’s new romance became public when the 22-year-old tennis star wished her new lover a happy birthday on Instagram.

Kenin was seen hugging Wenders from behind in the shot, with him resting on her chest in what seems to be the backseat of a car.

She used the hashtag #ily in the caption and followed it up with an Instagram post.

However, it seems like the couple is no longer together as she does not have any post about Wenders.
