Andy Hillstrand Net Worth $1.5 Million Dollars

Andy is a third generation fisherman, and like most of his family members, he was trained from a young age. While he has been fishing for most of his life, he became recognized publicly after appearing in the show “Deadliest Catch”. He is seen in the the “Time Bandit” along with his co-captain and brother Jonathan. Both of them, along with the ship and crew appeared in the second season. The show’s seasons usually showcase his crew, and other ships competing to get the most catch before the fishing season ends. When they were fishing for king crabs, Hillstrand was seen on deck, counting crab and sorting with the rest of the crew. In another season, he was seen steering and helping to fish for oplio crabs. The ship is usually joined by a two person camera crew who stay with them and record footage for an entire season. Andy is seen as a very serious man especially when it comes to fishing, though he remains level headed throughout the decisions they make.

The show has not always been smooth for the captains even though they’ve earned a significant amount of money from it. Nearing the end of the sixth season, the captains of the various ships were sued by Discovery Channel for $3 million because of a problem between the captains and the show. According to the lawsuit, the captains failed to do more shots for the sixth season, as the captains argued that the filming would delay fishing schedules. The conflict was eventually resolved which made all the ships and crews return for the seventh season.

Now Andy is seen in a more active role on the ship, especially since his brother has been having health issues as of late.

For his personal life, it is known that Andy has been married to Sabrina for 26 years and they have two daughters. When it isn’t the fishing season, he and the family stay in Indiana, on a 17-acre ranch they own. They have another business there called “Hobby Horse Acres”. He also has two dogs, enjoys playing instruments such as the guitar, and has a collection of remote controlled aircrafts.
