Alex Vincent Young

Alex’s acting career started at an early age. He was cast in the 1988 supernatural slasher film “Child’s Play”. The film turned into a five-sequel franchise gaining a large following. Vincent was only five years old when the initial filming took place, in the lead part of Andy Barclay, a boy framed for Chucky’s crimes. The role shot him to fame. The film played a significant role in increasing his net worth.

The young actor began to land roles in films such as the 1989 “Wait Until Spring, Bandini” and the 1990 “Just Like in the Movies”. He then earned his role of Barclay in the 1990 sequel, “Child’s Play 2”, cementing his reputation in the acting world, and increasing his net worth once again, as the second installment was also a great box-office success, grossing over $28 million in the US. He also appeared in “Child’s Play 3” in the following year, although in an uncredited part as younger Barclay.

Alex Vincent Actor

In 1993 Vincent played Jeff Danieloff in the adventure comedy film “My Family Treasure”, but although his popularity and his fortune also increased, the young actor then stepped away from his acting career and moved to Florida to focus on his education in music, enrolling at the Full Sail University.

He returned to the acting world in 2008, appearing in the horror film “Dead Country”. Other acting opportunities followed and he made appearances in films such as the 2011 comedy “On The Ropes” and the 2013 horror thriller “House Guest”. All added to his net worth.

Vincent regained his role as Barclay, making a cameo appearance in the sixth installment of the “Child’s Play” series, the 2013 “Curse of Chucky”.

Most recently, he has appeared in the 2017 films “The Dark Military”, and has been involved in other 2017 projects such as “The N00bs”, “Scavenger” and “Descending”, as well as the upcoming seventh installment of the “Child’s Play” franchise, the 2017 “Cult of Chucky”.

Alex Vincent Cult of Chucky

Cult of Chucky is a 2017 American slasher movie composed and coordinated by Don Mancini. The seventh portion of the Child’s Play establishment, following the 2013 film Curse of Chucky, it stars Brad Dourif as Chucky, with a supporting cast of Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Jennifer Tilly, and Summer H. Howell – every one of whom are returning cast individuals from past portions.

The film began production in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on January 2017. It premiered at the London FrightFest Film Festival on August 24, 2017, and was released with rated and unrated versions distributed by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment via Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD on October 3, 2017. As of October 2017, the film has grossed $2 million from DVD and Blu-ray sales.

In December 2013, following the release of Curse of Chucky, Don Mancini confirmed that he was planning on developing the seventh installment in the Chucky franchise. By February 2015, Mancini was in the process of writing the script for the film. A year later, Mancini, Jennifer Tilly, and Fiona Dourif confirmed that shooting would soon begin for the film. In December 2016, the production office for the film was opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. On January 5, 2017, the premise, cast, production schedule and distribution details for Cult of Chucky were revealed, with shooting set to commence four days later.

In an October 2013 interview, Mancini revealed that since Child’s Play 3, he had always wanted to introduce the concept of “Multiple Chucky’s” but was unable to do so due to budget constraints. He eventually used the concept in Cult of Chucky, 26 years later.

On January 5, 2017, the principal cast for Cult of Chucky was announced, featuring Brad Dourif as Chucky, Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany and Summer H. Howell as Alice. Each of them was featured in previous films, with Brad Dourif in all of them, Vincent in Child’s Play (1988) and Child’s Play 2, Tilly in Bride of Chucky (1998) and Seed of Chucky, and Fiona Dourif and Howell in Curse of Chucky (2013).

Cult of Chucky marks Vincent’s first principal role in the franchise since he was a child actor, in Child’s Play 2, twenty-seven years prior. Although Andy appeared in Child’s Play 3, he was played by a different actor, Justin Whalin, due to the events taking place eight years after the second film, which came out less than a year earlier. Andy and Tilly also appeared during a post-credits scene in Curse of Chucky.

Principal photography for Cult of Chucky began in Winnipeg on January 9, 2017, with the cinematographer from Curse of Chucky, Michael Marshall, returning in the same capacity. Tony Gardner returned to create and perform the Chucky character as he had done previously for Seed of Chucky and Curse of Chucky. Filming ended on February 18, 2017.

Alex Vincent Child’s Play 2019

Frightened youngsters everywhere throughout the nation have discarded toys before they turned as destructive as Chucky.

Be that as it may, the deadly doll at the core of the Child’s Play establishment evoked an alternate type of fear for Alex Vincent, the kid on-screen character who depicted Andy Barclay, Chucky’s adversary in the initial two motion pictures. True to life stiflers weren’t going to alarm him. He knew the main route for Chucky to turn malevolence was in the event that one of seven puppeteers made him.

Rather, Vincent dreaded the superstar that accompanied Chucky.

“I never liked that much attention,” said Vincent, now 38 and living in Clearwater. “I enjoyed acting but had no interest in being a star.”

At 13, he walked away from the movie industry and his former life as Chucky’s on-screen opponent. But today, he is all in on Child’s Play again. He appeared in the last two films and will begin filming a Chucky show this fall for the SyFy Network.

He is not in the new Child’s Play movie starring Aubrey Plaza that comes out Thursday. No one from the original franchise is involved with what that film’s producers call a reboot, but Vincent prefers to describe as a “re-imagination.”

The story that launched in 1988 and continued through six sequels will live on through the SyFy series.

“It will focus on new stories, but the family will all be back together,” he said. “It will all tie in.”

The native of Maywood, N.J. delved into acting at 5 after seeing a friend star in a local commercial.

“I told my parents that I wanted to be on TV, too,” Vincent said. “I was exceptionally cute, and I was bright, so it seemed to be worth a shot.”

He booked a few commercials and a small role on As the World Turns before his big break as the boy whose mother gives him a doll unknowingly possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray.

There was little room for error when acting alongside a doll. If the puppeteers bringing Chucky to life hit their marks, that was the take the director would use.

“You had to get it right every time because when Chucky did the right thing, you were not going to get another chance,” Vincent said.

The movie garnered an immediate cult following, Chucky became a horror icon and a sequel starring Vincent was released two years later.

“Child’s Play represents the 1980s,” said Tampa horror director and Vincent’s friend Joe Davison, 43. “You have Freddy, Jason, and Chucky.”

Still, Vincent preferred to hide his identity as a movie star by remaining in his small New Jersey town and surrounding himself with childhood friends who knew not to discuss his acting resume in public.

Then, the script for part Child’s Play 3 called for the Andy character to be 16. Vincent was only 10. Justin Whalin was cast in the role.
