Adam Duritz parents: Meet Gilbert Duritz and Linda Dee

Adam Duritz was born on August 1, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, to physicians Gilbert and Linda Duritz. In the beginning, Adam Duritz performed as a singer for a few small San Francisco Bay Area bands, notably the collegiate rock group Sordid Humor.
He joined forces with guitarist and vocalist David Bryson to create The Himalayans in 1990. For the band, Bryson sang and penned numerous songs, including “Round Here.”
Using the moniker Counting Crows, Duritz and Bryson created a demo tape for a record company. They eventually had their debut album, named “August and Everything,” released in 1993 after their tape was chosen. Along with the singles “Mr. Jones,” “Rain King,” and “A Murder of One,” the album included “Round Here.”
